iPhone 5 rumor-round-up

Posted by Astra Technical Services on June 7, 2012

OK for many months now people have been speculating on what the new iPhone is going to look like… Well after doing some research and collecting data I have managed to grasp some info and bring it into a blog site round-up for all to see.

First and formost is the rumor of a bigger screen.

It is said the new iPhone (or “iPhone 5”) is going to have a 4 inch screen {see below} [up for from the original 3.5 inch]

In the pictures mentioned above you will also come to notice that not only is the phone longer but most everything on the bottom of the phone has changed in 1 way or another.

For instance,

The headphone jack has been moved from the top of the phone to the bottom and the Dock connector has been shrunk by roughly half the size of the original port.

The mic looks to have been either enhanced or just moved to make way for bigger *stronger* speakers

Square in Stores!

Posted by Astra Technical Services on June 6, 2012

Square’s turning up the heat… Now when you walk into a store like Walgreen’s, Staples or Fedex (office locations) you will see the credit card terminal on the store shelves for sale at just $9.95 a dongle. You may ask yourself “Why would I pay for a Square Card Reader?”, well it’s because it’s actually free. There is a $10 rebate inside for “new users”. If you prefer to just go online and make an account you can still do that as well and wait for the card reader in the mail or just head down to the store to pick one up.

iPhone rumors have heightened!

Posted by Astra Technical Services on May 29, 2012

At this point “iPhone 5” rumors are beginning to heat up as more and more images begin to “show up” across the net.

I have looked around and came across one that may be real and seems more legit than most…

Although a redesign is inevitable to give a potentially bigger screen (4 inches) and a smaller dock connector to make space for the rumored “stereo speakers” (instead of 1 speaker *with increased sizes*). There is also rumors of them moving the Headphone hack to the bottom (next to the speakers) and making the phone even thinner than the 4S.

Pod2G give his “Why Jailbreak?” Reasons

Posted by Astra Technical Services on May 22, 2012

Why jailbreak ?

“There are multiple reasons to jailbreak, including :

  • changing the iOS experience with powerful tweaks that can’t ever exist on the AppStore : SBSettings, WinterBoard, IntelliScreenX, LockInfo, and lot of others…
  • playing retro games on console and arcade emulators.
  • having access to a unix shell in you pocket, and all the open source software that can run on a unix OS.
The jailbreak is not meant for (and we are totally against it) :
  • pirating AppStore applications
Also please don’t pirate Cydia tweaks, there are people working hard on these, and the price is usually low. There’s no reason to do that.”
