Pod2G give his “Why Jailbreak?” Reasons

Posted by Astra Technical Services on May 22, 2012

Why jailbreak ?

“There are multiple reasons to jailbreak, including :

  • changing the iOS experience with powerful tweaks that can’t ever exist on the AppStore : SBSettings, WinterBoard, IntelliScreenX, LockInfo, and lot of others…
  • playing retro games on console and arcade emulators.
  • having access to a unix shell in you pocket, and all the open source software that can run on a unix OS.
The jailbreak is not meant for (and we are totally against it) :
  • pirating AppStore applications
Also please don’t pirate Cydia tweaks, there are people working hard on these, and the price is usually low. There’s no reason to do that.”

Brilliant Apple iPod Controller

Posted by Astra Technical Services on May 16, 2012

Looking around online, I found something that I think everyone could use.

If Apple manages to “patent” this it would cost a good amount but it would be a grand idea still.
Of course it would need to be a bluetooth connection for “low power consumption” but it would allow “kid” drivers to keep their hands on the steering wheel while they learn to drive.

Successful iPhone 4S downgrade

Posted by Astra Technical Services on May 12, 2012

Yes you read it correctly, I successfully downgraded my iPhone 4S from iOS 5.1 to 5.0.1 (with SHSH blobs) using RedSn0w 9.11b2 from the Dev Team. It took a little work and frustration but after fiddling a little I managed to get it to listen and work.

Thank you Dev Team

Posted by Astra Technical Services on May 11, 2012

Looks like the iPhone Dev team is moving right along.

They believe more in allowing iDevices to be upgraded or downgraded than Apple allows anymore.

If you recently had a jailbroken iPhone 4S or other A5 devices and you saved your SHSH blobs, then accidentally upgraded to 5.1, your in luck!

The Dev Team has just released the newest version of RedSn0w BETA that allows your to downgrade your A5 iDevices (maybe A4 as well) to earlier versions of iOS 5 with your SHSH BLOBS (can’t be done without them!).
